SBT Junior Scholarship Recipients
This year, SBT GRVL launched a Junior Scholarship Program to support young athletes who want to compete in Steamboat Springs but may not otherwise have the means to do so. SBT GRVL is proud to announce the selection of 24 junior athletes for its 2026 Junior Scholarship Program.
Thanks to generous financial support from Storied Places, Town Hall, Steamboat Social Club, and an anonymous donor, the scholarship program was expanded from 6 to 24 athletes.
Maddie Torres

I’m excited to compete in beautiful Colorado, challenging myself against stronger fields and take on longer distances. I love being outdoor spending time with my family and growing in my faith. I also hope to inspire more young girls to get into cycling and experience the joy of the sport.

Zoe Hosinger
WashingtonMy name is Zoe Honsinger, and I’m 16 years old. I lived in Sandpoint, Idaho for most of my life but moved to Bellingham, Washington this year. My background is in XC mountain bike racing on the Sandpoint team with NICA, but thanks to a similar program from Rebecca’s Private Idaho I had the opportunity to try out gravel racing, and fell in love with it. I raced the SBT 99 miler last year, and am stoked to come back this year with a whole crew of other inspiring junior athletes. I’m so grateful for this opportunity!
Ty Brasuell
ArkansasHi, I am Ty Brasuell. I live in the heart of America in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. In 5th grade, I started Nica and fell in love with racing. Since then, I have been chasing bigger and bigger events in Road, Gravel, and Mountain Biking. This lead me to Steam Boat Gravel. I am excited to try my hand at a gravel race with one of the most prestigious junior fields and amazing terrain.
Quintin Biagi
ColoradoHello I am Quintin Biagi. I am 12 years old and a Steamboat Springs native. Some of my favorite things are mountain & gravel biking, riding with friends, dirt biking, skiing, dance, and football. I also really like trail building and making GoPro videos (YouTube Biagi510). I love good crisp potato chips, pizza and pasta. I have one cat named Alfie and a fish named Pause. I am in 6th grade at SSMS. I started biking at age 2 and have raced in multiple cross-country & downhill races and a couple gravel races including SBT at age 9 - my longest distance so far is 44 miles in the Dustbowl 100 in Indiana. I'm looking forward to riding SBT with this team, accomplishing a new goal, and I can't wait to crush Cow Creek!
Ben Warders
KansasI’m Ben Warders from Wichita, Kansas, and I’ve been living life on two wheels since joining my local NICA team in 7th grade. After years of sharpening my skills in local XC and gravel races, I’ve been fully committed to my training in recent years to be competitive in the country’s biggest races. While my family and I spend a lot of time in Colorado—specifically the Leadville area—I’m excited to head to Steamboat this summer for the legendary SBT GRVL to see how I stack up against world-class competition.
Trent Roberts
IdahoIm Trent Roberts (17) I was born and raised in north Idaho. I started racing when I was 7 but I really got in to racing when I joined our local NICA team 4 years ago and really went all in on racing and the bike community. Gemma Edwards
North CarolinaGemma Edwards is a 14-year-old rider from Asheville, North Carolina, who first got hooked on biking the day she realized her 3-year-old brother was faster on his bike than she was on a scooter—and the sibling rivalry has been fueling her ever since. She races mountain bike, cyclocross, and gravel, highlighted by a 5th-place finish at Cyclocross Nationals in 2023. While she balances a full schedule that includes TaeKwonDo (junior first degree black belt), competitive soccer, track running, and snowboarding, she consistently shows up strong whenever she’s on the bike. Gemma loves school, hiking and camping with her family, and spending time with friends. She’s excited to take on the challenge and atmosphere of SBT GRVL®.
Sam Edwards
North CarolinaSam Edwards is a 12-year-old cyclist from Asheville, North Carolina, who learned to ride on the Asheville “Mellowdrome” just before his third birthday. Since then, he’s been chasing—and pushing—his older sister on every ride, turning sibling competition into motivation. Sam races cyclocross, gravel, and mountain bikes, and brings the same energy to everything he does, from lacrosse to designing projects on his 3D printer. When he’s not riding, you’ll find him adventuring outdoors with his family and their German Shorthaired Pointer, Myrtle. He’s especially excited to be part of SBT GRVL® and experience one of the most iconic gravel events in the country.
Eden Gerber

I’m looking forward to SBT GRVL’s challenging climbs and amazing views. I love the camaraderie of biking events and hope to inspire more girls to join in the fun. During the off-season, you can find me skiing or ice skating.
Kate Elwell
ColoradoMy name is Kate Elwell, and I am from central Pennsylvania. I have biked for as long as I can remember, but started mountain biking during COVID and started racing shortly after when I joined NICA in 6th grade. After gaining the experience of racing and seeing the awesome cycling community, I fell in love with the sport. To get faster for mountain biking, I got a gravel bike and really enjoyed riding it too. Last year, I started going to bigger racing events, and it was really fun. I am most looking forward to the atmosphere of racing this big race and seeing what I can do in my longest race yet.
