ADVOCACY
SBT GRVL p/b Wahoo Gives Back
We believe that cycling events should be a unifying experience that bring together a community of people that share a passion for getting outside on two wheels and exploring nature. We are grateful for our entire extended gravel family, and have been fortunate to work with national and local partners who share our same beliefs and support a common goal.
We are narrowing our commitments to focus on cycling and youth in Routt County. This new focus allows us to amplify our positive impact as we elevate these organizations within our local community. As an event with a broad and diverse rider base, we are creating connections, pathways, and opportunities to support advocacy fundraising efforts and create platforms for our partners to fundraise and expand their reach beyond our backyard.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our three Local Partners below, and help us further the work of these non-profits and their beneficial role in supporting our youth and cycling within Routt County.
Local Advocacy Partners
The Cycle Effect works to provide young women equal opportunity and access to the sport of mountain biking. We aim to serve 70% of participants who identify as Latinx and/or Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) and work to remove financial barriers while supporting social-emotional well-being for our participants. By centering our values of equity, compassion, belonging, thriving, courage, and fun, we are committed to creating an organization that allows female-identifying and non-binary participants the opportunity to create brighter futures and build stronger communities.
Routt County Riders advocates to implement positive change for all types of cyclists in Northwest Colorado. They accomplish their mission through community outreach activities like social rides, safety initiatives, trail maintenance and coordinated volunteer days. They engage civically and advocate for trail diversity and road infrastructure improvements throughout the Yampa Valley and beyond.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Colorado provides a safe, positive place for kids in the Craig and Steamboat Springs communities. Our Clubs have full time, part time, and junior staff youth development professionals. These professionals mentor, teach and play with the youth we serve. We offer programming after school, school days off, and summer camps. At the Clubs, members are involved in educational and fun youth-developmental programs that give each child a sense of competence, power to influence decisions, usefulness and belonging–all qualities which will help them make the most of their lives and become the leaders of today and tomorrow.
