Founded on the core values of inclusivity, fun, safety, fairness, credibility and challenge, we are excited to announce that Wahoo will be our title sponsor for 2022. And as SBT GRVL presented by Wahoo, we’re further pleased to announce our key brand advocacy and brand partners for 2022.  Relationships are central to us, and 2022 will bring the opportunity to build on existing connections fostered over the past three years while creating new ones in the pursuit of making gravel more inviting to more people. 

We regard brands as more than simply a sponsor. While these relationships help make the event possible, they in turn enable us to better support causes, community and a commitment to investing in all riders, from parity to diversity to inclusivity, para cyclists and juniors. Notably, these values are shared equally by new presenting partner Wahoo. 

Over the past year we not only had the opportunity to use Wahoo’s best in class products, but also got to know their incredible team. The Wahoo crew are the people that you want to go ride bikes with, and as a brand, aligns with our core values and initiatives especially around diversity and inclusivity. We’re excited to be working with them for the next two years, and continue our support of Wahoo Fursa by hosting Amani Racing the week of SBT GRVL.

As presenting sponsor Wahoo’s involvement with Ride For Racial Justice will continue for 2022, while also supporting other initiatives.

We’re also excited to welcome Specialized as Official Bike Partner. As a leader in bike innovation, Specialized’s Crux and Diverge will be right at home on Routt County’s gravel roads; in fact, much of the footage from the Crux launch was shot right here in Steamboat Springs.

Expanded Advocacy Partnerships

In addition to equal pro payouts and working towards parity with 50% women’s & men’s fields, we will continue to build upon and support the following national and local organizations and initiatives. 

Ride For Racial Justice’s mission in partnering with SBT is to once again provide support for 25 BIPOC athletes from across the county to race SBT GRVL. It’s not only support but an opportunity to bring a community together to ride. SBT provides 25 complimentary entries while offering support and resources including potential sponsor connections. During the event, RFRJ also hosts a Friday shakeout ride and panel to support the organization’s mission. 

All Bodies On Bikes is a social, educational, and industry-wide movement to create and foster size inclusive bike communities. The organization envisions a world where anyone, regardless of body size, weight, or perceived fitness level can safely enjoy a bike ride in a way that is joyful to them. For 2022 SBT is providing 15 comp entries, in addition to working alongside brand partners like Wahoo to support allbodiesonbikes.com.

People For Bikes is a national bicycling advocacy organization making biking better for everyone by uniting millions of Americans, thousands of businesses and hundreds of communities to make every bike ride safer, more accessible and more fun. People For Bikes uses sold out SBT entries as a fundraising tool, and the expo to interact with riders. Juniors on Bikes is our own initiative in partnership with Mid South to welcome and raise up the next generation of back-of-the-packers, the kids who simply want to have a good time out on a bike and see where two wheels can take them. This is about fun and experiencing gravel, which is why SBT has set aside 200 entries and half price for junior riders. www.velonews.com/news/gravel/the-mid-south-and-sbt-grvl-team-up-to-get-juniors-on-gravel/.

Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado: Over 1,000 children will walk through the blue doors at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Colorado this year.  The Clubs are youth development organizations dedicated to promoting health, social, education, vocational and career development of boys & girls. At SBT the Boys & Girls Club hosts the Saturday Strider Race and Family Fun Zone, while also supporting aid station teams, to show kids the fun and hard work that goes into an event. bgcnwc.org/steamboat-club/.

Colorado Agriculture Alliance: Since 1999, Community Agriculture Alliance has worked to promote and support local agriculture in the Yampa Valley. In addition to our partnership with Jay Fetcher to ride through his ranch, we source ingredients from local farms and ranches for SBT events. https://communityagalliance.org.

Routt County Riders: gives cyclists a collective voice in community proceedings and creates a silver thread connecting riders with land management agencies in the Valley. https://routtcountyriders.org/.
